French Fries


Crispy outside. Tender inside. Serve warm with tomato sauce. Quick, easy and tasty :D

French Fries

Ingredients:
potatoes
cold salt water
oil
salt

Method:
1) Peel potatoes and cut into strips.
2) Soak in cold salt water for 1 hour.
3) Drain and pat dry potatoes.
4) Fry potatoes until they turn golden brown.
5) Drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt.

its funny how you always think it would be easy to make french fries, and when you finally do it, something always goes wrong - mine are always like chips or too crispy - otherwise too thick cut and like steak frites. this sounds perfect - thanks for the tip about the cold water.
i just bake mine now - its so much easier! lol!

you bake yours? that sounds interesting! i should try baking instead of frying next time :)

yup - i bake mine - just cut it like french fries. Toss to coat with a little olive oil (about 2 tbsp for 4 large potatoes), salt and pepper. Toss in the oven for 45 mts at 375 deg F. Done. Perfect always! :)
